Life goes on

Kev never left Zedadias’ home after Alice did. He’s still wandering the house having arguments with himself. Zedadias isn’t responding to him, perhaps hoping that if he ignores him, he’ll go away.

Ever since Alice’s early visit when she broke his shower, water has been constantly leaking from somewhere, despite the shower having been fixed long ago. Zedadias spends most of his days futilely trying to stem the tide with his mop.

When all the shouting tires him out, Kev curls up on the bed.

Zedadias’ life goes on around him.

Next: Independence

  2. 8 Alex July 14, 2009 at 11:34 am

I’d like to see him remove his sunglasses again while doing that

  3. 13 Richard July 14, 2009 at 11:38 am

I just love your story. Keep up the good work.

  4. 14 pipmon July 14, 2009 at 11:52 am

God, I’m at the end of my shift at work, drinking what bit of caffeine I have left to keep away for the drive home, and taht last pic of Zed’ made me snort it up my nose!!!

  5. 16 Herpers July 14, 2009 at 12:01 pm

So Kev has stayed at Zedadias’s house two nights in a row now? We all wanted Alice to move in with him, not Kev!

  6. 19 Sianystar July 14, 2009 at 12:15 pm

Alice should so make a move on Zed… He’s living the childhood she never had! She could join in!

  7. 21 Mook July 14, 2009 at 12:19 pm

    It’s the original odd couple!

  8. 22 Arrghyle July 14, 2009 at 12:27 pm

I love this blog. I’ve added Alice and Kev to my main Sims game, where they add a good bit of color. I’d also like to bring in Zedadias; is he available for download?

    • 23 playerchad757 July 14, 2009 at 2:41 pm

he wasn’t until i remade him on the sims 3 exchange under playerchad757.

    • 24 Taylor July 14, 2009 at 2:43 pm

I’m pretty sure he’s a townie sim that comes with Riverview, the free town available on the Sims 3 site.

      • 25 Kathersha July 15, 2009 at 1:35 am

No, sometimes random people show up in you town that aren’t included in the town… I don’t know why. I had a guy named “Cycl0n3 Sw0rd” show up in my town who looked a little bit like Zed, but he got old and died.

      • 26 Samantha July 15, 2009 at 6:03 am

random people can show up, which makes it difficult to say whether zed was created or not, i dont think he grew up since it wouldn’t fit the timeline of alice and kevs story. Cycl0n3 Sw0rd is part of the roomie household in sunset valley i know that for sure. I havn’t seen zed anywhere but when i go to create a sim there at the bottom of the young adult list is a sim who sort of looks like zed so those wanting to create him could try using him and seve yourself some trouble.

  9. 27 John Doe July 14, 2009 at 12:29 pm

I know they can beat each other up, but are Sims capable of murder? I’m wondering when Kev is going to push someone over the edge, or maybe just lose it himself.

    • 28 Brytni July 14, 2009 at 5:55 pm

no. why would they be??????????? thats crazy. there not going to make a sims game with murder. sorry, try a different video game. – and sorry if i came off as a bitch i was just answering a question people have been asking for like ever-

      • 29 Pantalones July 14, 2009 at 6:40 pm

Sometimes, I wish they could. It would add a very interesting dynamic to the game. But Brytni’s right: it wouldn’t be the sims if they could. I also wish they would have a religious expansion pack: having the pope and the dali llama (sp?) and Jesus just wandering around as npc’s from time to time would be hilarious. And if especially devout sims would get into arguments over belief from time to time, then that would be funny too! Would also bring to light how silly it is to argue in real life, dare I say.

      • 30 kf July 14, 2009 at 11:29 pm

they can’t murder, but they can wish to see someone die.. i was playing with alice and kev and he wished to see her firey ghost (she was a teenager at the time i believe, it was sad) =/

    • 31 Casey July 14, 2009 at 6:49 pm

Wouldn’t that be interesting? But since children can play this game, I doubt it highly. Im still laughing over how when you join the criminal career you can wind up in jail. Thats funny!

    • 32 OneHappyAtheist July 14, 2009 at 11:08 pm

I dunno, but have you ever noticed the “Gold Digger” lifetime achievement? It says something about her partner dying “prematurely”. Almost seems like it’s offering her a chance to kill him off so she can enjoy the money.

      • 33 kansine July 14, 2009 at 11:23 pm

And sims can also hope “to see someone’s ghost” – with other words, they hope that this person dies! But once in sims 2 my sim was hoping to see her own ghost!!! O_O (A glitch, I guess XD)

  10. 34 Chelsea July 14, 2009 at 12:36 pm

I hope Alice goes out with Zeadias’ they would be a cute couple.

  11. 35 Mea July 14, 2009 at 12:43 pm

Euck… stinky old man on the covers.. can’t get much more creepy than that…. and that will never ever come out…

  12. 36 milly July 14, 2009 at 12:44 pm

    Kev”s so infuriating!!!!!! poor zeadia

  13. 37 nyrrat July 14, 2009 at 12:48 pm

i know where the water is comeing from the toilet

  14. 38 Andrew July 14, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Have we seen Kev in that jacket before? Aside from the fact that it’s filthy, he almost looks respectable in it.

    Almost.

  15. 40 Virgil July 14, 2009 at 1:26 pm

I still say that Zed seems a terrible match; he might indulge the lost childhood; but a childish person isn’t the best idea for someone who needs so much. I mean what does Zed do? I’m just saying she shouldn’t fall for the first nice guy she ever meets, seems a little desperate for love, kinda like selling herself.

    • 41 Ryann July 14, 2009 at 1:33 pm

THANK YOU! I think Alice should find a guy with the “brave” and “good” and “friendly and “good sense of humor” traits

      • 42 Tabitha July 14, 2009 at 1:41 pm

i know right! I have Alice and kev, once alice was a ypoung adult i did everything i could to find her the perfect guy, he has all those traits, plus he’s lucky.

      • 43 Cherveny July 14, 2009 at 2:23 pm

And needs to be someone with the repair skill I’d say 🙂

      • 44 andrea July 14, 2009 at 4:53 pm

we all want one of those! Sadly i can only find ones with ‘couch potato’, ‘hopeless’ and ‘lager’ traits

    • 45 Rhea Ewing July 14, 2009 at 3:52 pm

      Absolutely agreed! Thank you!

    • 46 Axe-Handler July 15, 2009 at 12:58 am

I’m kind of Pro AlicexZed, but that doesn’t fuel what I’m about to say. This is The Sims, have you ever noticed that couples never get into arguments over anything? At least, not autonomously. Couples are always perfect matches; even when they have opposite traits, they can still lead a long and happy life together. Very unrealistic, of course, but that’s just it. Alice and Zedadias aren’t real, they’re sims. They would work out just fine as a couple, and they would work out just fine as friends. In many a sim story it is much more convenient to go with the first guy you meet, and it always works out just fine unless you purposely try to make it not work out. There is no possible way for a sim to be desperate for love, or to be “selling herself.”

However, if this were a real-life situation, I agree with you that it’s not very smart to get involved with the first guy she’s met and actually made a good relationship with. (However, the desperate for love thing confuses me, ’cause, come one, if you really feel that way about the first guy you met, then you’re not desperate, you genuinely feel that way. xD)

      • 47 Virgil July 17, 2009 at 8:41 pm

I get your point but at the same time I felt like this story showed how much a real shine the game has. Besides it’s not just about being happy; you could live a shallow self indulged life and be happy. However a harder working sim would make a better future if say she ever wanted children.

There is a way for them to be desperate, they always act desperate when left alone. I had made a family in which one son had some family orientation; he moved out so the computer took control. He married some random girl with unsimilar traits in order to fulfill his wishes and start making a family.

As for first guy you met; it’s just such a childish act. Only people I can think of that talk about early loves being perfect are teen girls who spout their crappy boyfriend is perfect up to breaking up with them. There is some chance it’s her best match, my point wasn’t to never be with him; but instead to wait and see to make sure she doesn’t throw away possible life for some kinda nice guy.

    • 48 Virgil July 17, 2009 at 8:34 pm

yes exactly; her position needs support. I’d rather see someone with “good”, “brave”, “workaholic” and then whatever two traits make him seem human. It’s not some ten romance, it’s a reflection of what real support she and her father needs.

  16. 49 Jickle July 14, 2009 at 1:32 pm

I like the idea that Zedadias spends most of his time trying to stem a leak in the bathroom.

  17. 51 ronaldsf July 14, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Kudos for the storytelling – you just never know what’s going to happen day to day. Lets us “live out” their lives. Cheers.

  18. 52 Michelle July 14, 2009 at 1:42 pm

I might have missed it, but is Zed a stock character in the game or someone Robin created?

  19. 54 Bree July 14, 2009 at 2:09 pm

Zed and Alice would sure fit well together, btw I love the story ;D

  20. 55 Kalika July 14, 2009 at 2:25 pm

haha Z is so cute XD Aww that second picture is so sad.. 😦 he doesn’t blame Alice at all though.. so kinda..
    btw I think you spelled his name wrong in the first sentence.. ^^;

  21. 56 Rebecca July 14, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Loving it! I really need to download Riverview, that is a really neat looking community lot.

The story inspired me to make a couple of homeless sims of my own, modeled after these two. It was all going so well, sorta, until the dad died. The daughter was taken away by a social worker and there goes that. 😛

    • 57 worldwaffle July 15, 2009 at 1:07 am

ROFL! I’m lauging my pants off at that.

Now to ask you a question, what happens if the dad dies and the girl is taken away? Does it say “Game Over” 😉

    • 58 Anna July 15, 2009 at 4:37 am

      yeah… I tried it too…
but none of my sims died. I just got bored… I’m kinda sorta impatient, huh?

  22. 59 Eric July 14, 2009 at 2:44 pm

I had that “Puddle” trouble too with my Sims breaking the shower at a townie house. Just change the active household to Zed’s house, delete all the plumbing in the bathroom, mop up the puddles, and then replace the plumbing. Then you can switch back to Alice and Kev family.

I hope that solves it. Also I love this blog, I check every day!

    • 60 roBurky July 14, 2009 at 3:33 pm

I quite like this bug, though. Alice has done permanent damage to this poor guy’s house.

      • 61 KH July 14, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Haha… Good way to use a bug to your advantage, I wouldn’t have thought to use the bug like that! But that’s why I don’t have a Sims 3 blog… Not so good with the storytelling.

      • 62 kansine July 14, 2009 at 11:28 pm

I totally agree! Sometimes bugs just make the game better XD

      • 63 Kate from Tacoma July 15, 2009 at 3:44 am

speaking of bugs but a little off-topic… none of my sims have been able to have daughters yet. It’s been like 16 sons in a row. For probably ten different families. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. And P.S. I love this story! Did you have a good weekend off?

      • 64 Stacey July 15, 2009 at 5:02 am

If you feed a pregnant sim apples (or food that has been cooked with apples in it) the likely hood of having a boy increases. Eat 4 apple filled meal and I think the likelyhood reaches 100%. If you want girls, feed your preggo sim watermellons or foods with watermellon in it.

Hint: Fruit in the fridge gets used in alphabetical order. But if you keep watermelon in your sims’ inventory when they are cooking they’ll use that first.

      • 65 celara July 15, 2009 at 5:31 am

I agree. In my own story (http://celara.wordpress.com), I’ve actually had a couple bugs that have made it into the story. It can sometimes make for some very interesting, unexplainable events.

  23. 66 heroface July 14, 2009 at 2:59 pm

I tried a fairly extreme experiment on mine… one homeless guy with a bench a front door a phone and a pond… I forced him to adopt 7 babies, then put the 30 guests mod on then the know everyone cheat… then organised a birthday party… then let them be free will.

so far no major occurences… babies everywhere on the grass crying though… everyone hates my homeless chap and his noisy crying baby parties but the babies haven’t been taken away.

pizza boxes and birthday cakes and plates everywhere now

  24. 70 Di July 14, 2009 at 3:09 pm

I love Zedidas, he’s such a goofball. Also I’m not such a fan of his bathroom fixtures. Those are some gross greens. But I do like the decor in the rest of his house!

  25. 71 Ethan801 July 14, 2009 at 3:22 pm

Zed i a charachter the game created the sims eather frrom baby (two charachters) or just moving in.

  26. 72 Sarah July 14, 2009 at 3:30 pm

I’ve got a wacky idea: Kev and Zedadias. Kevadias.

You have Kev bringing his heartbreaking skills of romance – dude’s already broken up a marriage! – and a lot of brooding, and you have Zedadias who can take him out of his shell and keep him from being too evil. It’s perfect!

(And when Kev inevitably breaks Zed’s heart he can totally hook up with Alice.)

    • 73 Heirii13 July 14, 2009 at 7:38 pm

      ROFL! That’s brilliant! Kevadias…

It’s possible (though unlikely), I mean… Kev already sleeps in Zed’s bed. >=)

Now that I think about it… it explains a lot of Zed’s behavior… Tag? I’m just kidding, but that is a great idea! XD
The crazy bum and the childish romantic. Doesn’t exactly sound like the perfect couple, but it would make one hysterical story!

  27. 74 Hayley July 14, 2009 at 3:34 pm

Kev still hasn’t left.I wonder that too can SIMS murder each other

  28. 75 ASHBOBASH July 14, 2009 at 3:40 pm

Have any of you guys ever heard of supple?

  29. 78 scibbirishm July 14, 2009 at 4:14 pm

Oh Zedadias, he’s just so chill with everything and so nice to poor Alice and being so tolerate of stinky Kev.
    Way to go.

  30. 79 Katy July 14, 2009 at 4:16 pm

Can’t get through my workday without an update from you. Thanks for the stress relief!! 🙂

  31. 80 Aaron July 14, 2009 at 4:49 pm

Bit disappointed with the last two updates if i’m honest… 😦

  32. 81 Punkerbelle July 14, 2009 at 5:12 pm

I just wanted to say that I love this blog. I went out and bought this game the day it was released, but unfortunately my computer is to old and doesn’t have near enough memory. I enjoy reading this blog everyday.

    • 82 Denise July 14, 2009 at 5:45 pm

Oh! I just had to respond to your post specifically. I would like to point out (because it’s possible for everyone to enjoy this game on any type of computer) that my computer is 8 years old and only supports up to 1 gig of memory, however with a few minor do-it-yourself upgrades that must have cost me about $150 – if not less – in total I’m able to play TS3! Yay!

      • 83 Haley July 15, 2009 at 2:18 am

What kind of do-it-yourself upgrades? I have a computer that isn’t supporting Sims 3 well (it did fine on Sims 2), but I really, really want it to work better for Sims 3!!!! (Thanks!)

  33. 84 Anonymous July 14, 2009 at 5:14 pm

A little more than 6 sentences per update would be nice.

  34. 85 Jeepjeepcat July 14, 2009 at 5:42 pm

Great update as usual, can’t wait to see how the Kev squatting in Zed’s house ends up. The Alice I downloaded into my game died of old age today, she’s survived by her 5 Children and 9 Grandchildren.

  35. 87 Emore July 14, 2009 at 5:48 pm

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this blog. <33 But it's been a bit boring these late 2 or 3 posts, something crazy needs to happen! 😀 😀

  36. 88 Scarlett July 14, 2009 at 6:24 pm

    Sims have tongues now… 🙂

  37. 89 something July 14, 2009 at 6:39 pm

i created alice and kev on the sims 2 and i made a bathroom stall and evrybody rings the door bell on there!!!!!!!!!!! and most peeps come just to go to the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  38. 93 Sunny July 14, 2009 at 6:56 pm

I think Zed is a little nuts too, to be honest, but really sweet.

    Zed & Alice 4eva! lol

  39. 94 A-Sha July 14, 2009 at 6:59 pm

ROFLOL. His most fav thing to do. Gah~

  40. 96 Miao July 14, 2009 at 7:07 pm

Had Zed even gotten the “Rude Guest” moodlet? There’s no way that he would let Kev stay in his house for even two days, unless he’s an unusually kind-hearted Sim.

  41. 97 Lord dA jOsh July 14, 2009 at 7:17 pm

    I’m serious….

If I was Zed, Kev would have been on the tail end of a beating, or at least in the back of a Sims Police Car…

To be honest, i’m completely ready for him to DIE. And for Alice to move in with Zed as a room mate, renting the spare room, and eventually moving into HIS room as she gets pregnant and they are FORCED to get married. And live happily ever after…

…UNTIL her crappy upbringing catches up with her, she gets really confused, and ends up leaving Zed with the kid in her arms, running through the rain out the SimHenge so she can yell at rocks. Before finally having the child taken away by SSS. (Sims Social Services) And she is forced to live on the street again, as a “lady of the evening” to make money and support, not only her MADNESS!! But her addiction to cough syrup and heroin.

THEN, Alice will FINALLY meet a RICH man, like in the movie “PRETTY WOMAN”. But instead of getting married, he instead, promises her 50,000 sim dollars if she’ll do a crazy depraved sex act with a rabid angry bear. Having not been raised by the smartest man herself, she accepts. The bear takes her face off, and, panicking (as Sims so often begin to do), the RICH man disposed of her body by dumping her in the river. Coincidentally…the very SAME river where Alive and Zedadias dumped the body of her late father, Kev. The space they were unable to tolerate sharing in life, they would share together forever in death….
Zedadias eventually, but only after years and years of legal battles, was able to get the baby back. After that, the baby (Named Cooper) and Zedadias lived together in relative suburban normalcy until Cooper turned 12 and had to have his appendix removed. Blood DNA tests ran at that time by the child’s angry Grandmother, whom had never forgave Alice for running off with Cooper and acting so poorly that he’d been raised by the state for several years, showed the Cooper and Zedadias had no genetic SIMilarities (no pun intended :-P). But Zedadias being the man he is, disregarded those results and continued to raise the child until he turned 18 and moved out on his own.

And moral of the story IS….ummm…that woman can be really messed up cometimes…I think, I forget where I was comin from with this, just kinda got wrapped up in finishing the story….

    🙂

  42. 103 Westiedog12 July 14, 2009 at 7:21 pm

i don’t really have a comment, but i just wanted to say hi. HI!

  43. 104 Westiedog12 July 14, 2009 at 7:32 pm

Lord da josh… You sick twisted fiend! Alice is not crazy she is a good person in a very bad situation(you’ll find those words in a harry potter movie. i forgot which) If i wasn’t saying this over the internet i would smack you! Can’t you be like everyone else reading this blog and hope alice and zed will fall in love get married BEFORE she gets pregant and have at least two kids. And what the hell is her trait!

  44. 105 Lorraine July 14, 2009 at 7:46 pm

You know what would be funny? If Kev made a move on Zebadias! He still does have that lifetime wish to be the boyfriend of 10 sims. Now’s your chance, Kev!

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Maybe Alice and Kev will fight for Zeb’s love! 🙂

  45. 106 CarlieCherryb July 14, 2009 at 7:48 pm

I’m I the only one whos’s noticed that Zed’s house is extremely similar to the Mendez house in Riverview?? She must have evicted them or something.

  46. 107 d July 14, 2009 at 7:49 pm

Wasn’t really expecting updates to happen so quickly but I’m glad it did. Zed being tolerant towards Kev.. a sign that he wants to score points with the father of his future girlfriend or has he become so familiar with Kev already that he doesn’t mind his antics. Either way he’s still easy to like because of (or despite of) his childishness.

BTW got curious enough about the game that I did some research.. Is Alices’ last trait hopeless romantic? I remember reading somewhere that she read a romance novel.. and remember reading from several sites that reading a romance novel is an auto action available with the romantic trait.

    • 108 saw July 14, 2009 at 8:32 pm

actually, they are prob friends and Kev asked Zed if he could stay the night, and he prob did everyday. Great Post!

      • 109 d July 14, 2009 at 8:48 pm

so she is a hopeless romantic? that would be horrible.. I mean in real life she would be easily taken advantage of and left in a worse situation than she is now.. Zed deserves to die if he does something like that to Alice.

  47. 110 Ulrika July 14, 2009 at 7:59 pm

Zed has a hilarious expression on the last picture ^^

  48. 111 Holly July 14, 2009 at 8:41 pm

What the heck can’t you force him to leave Roburksy? Come on this is just plain sad. And funny!

  49. 112 d July 14, 2009 at 9:34 pm

@saw: uggh, i cant reply, edit or addon to my comment.. so i am adding it here. weird thought. Zedd probably needs to get the ‘birds and the bees’ talk first before their relationship could go into the romantic direction. :p

  50. 113 Mike July 14, 2009 at 11:21 pm

Zed must really like Alice if he’s willing to put up with crazy ol’ Kev. Dealing with horrible potential in-laws? That’s a sign of love right there!

  51. 114 IamBerry July 15, 2009 at 12:44 am

I had the same problem with the un-moppable puddle. Very very annoying. Wonderful story I am really enjoying it.

  52. 115 Sayoni July 15, 2009 at 12:52 am

WONDERFUL, I’m happy your commenting more on the story like you use to 🙂

  53. 116 Amy July 15, 2009 at 3:00 am

    RoBurky,

Did you make Zedadias, or did he come with the game?

    Please answer!!!!!
And, if you did make him, PLEEEEEASE make him available for download!!

    😀 Amy

  54. 119 Blast July 15, 2009 at 3:34 am

We want you to upload zed! purleez? and just make zed kiss her, they are meant to be, its sooooooo obvious

  55. 120 Patali July 15, 2009 at 3:40 am

Kev’s lookin’ sharp in that hobo gettup suit of his.

  56. 121 ToutIllumine July 15, 2009 at 3:44 am

I’ve had a similar shower problem. I just had to suck it up and replace all the items in the bathroom. Pretty sure it’s just some sort of glitch, but it didn’t go away after a few days and a restart of the game, unfortunately.

  57. 122 John Smith July 15, 2009 at 3:45 am

rofl ha ha ha whats up with the shower water lol

  58. 123 Anna July 15, 2009 at 4:47 am

man, Zed really is a good guy, huh??? Putting up with His Awfulness. I would most likely just kill Kev (or at least kick him out of my house) and have done with.
Maybe Alice’s last trait is Brave. That would sorta explain the whole “running for independance” thing. or not.

    • 124 Samantha July 15, 2009 at 6:21 am

To stop the water from pooling in the bathroom, you could just mop all the water up then buy a drain and put it in the bathroom. To do that of course, you would need tocontrol a sim living in the house…..so maybe you can influence Alice’s life a little and move her in with Zed?

    No?

    Just a thought….
