Squatting

Alice has found what looks like an unlocked abandoned warehouse outside the centre of town.

It could be a good place to squat when she can’t or won’t stay at other people’s homes.

There’s a sofa left inside that seems in good condition.

And even some shelves full of old books.

But it turns out later in the day that the place isn’t as abandoned as it seemed. It’s used by the locals as some kind of unofficial public library. Alice will get no privacy here.

Zedadias calls Alice on her mobile to talk. It seems Kev hasn’t left Zedadias’ house yet.

Next: Life goes on

Will that girl ever get a shower. And will Kev ever leave!

    • 2 Mary July 15, 2009 at 12:28 am

      I second that!

      • 3 Daisy October 2, 2009 at 2:36 am

hey, is that yvette’s ex in the last pic, you know, who Kev was with for about 1 night? I mean he was with yvette, not her ex… 😀

    • 4 Marco July 21, 2009 at 3:23 pm

      ***Great this stuff is cool***
I also am a homeless person who is a squater.
my only problem with this one story is as a homeless person there are places where homeless people shower, as a matter of fact I am at one of those places right now using the computer. It’z kinda nasty here full of crack heads and drunks talking LOUD about nothing and for no reason BUT… it’z better than smelling like the day before yesterday

  2. 5 Chase July 13, 2009 at 10:11 am

A library with only one bookshelf? Strange world alice lives in…poor girl, she never seems to get any peace.

  3. 7 Bvz July 13, 2009 at 10:15 am

Random public library in a warehouse? Wierd… Alice seems to have
    a very interesting life =P

Love this blog, every post is something new.

    cool

  5. 9 Alex July 13, 2009 at 10:26 am

Are those crates actual Decors I haven’t seen/used yet?

    • 10 Max July 13, 2009 at 3:08 pm

Actually they are, I think you can find them if you look in miscellaneous decorations.

    • 11 runsula July 13, 2009 at 4:42 pm

yes, I am not sure if I downloaded them in my game from the website or if it was already there…

    • 12 Kylebeans July 13, 2009 at 8:12 pm

Yes, they are. go into Decorations, then select All Decorations. You’ll find them at the very bottom of the list with The Sims 3 Store icon on them 😛

    • 13 putnamehere3145 July 14, 2009 at 2:19 am

It is a decor that you require riverview to use. Alice and Kev takes place in riverview, the free add-on neigborhood that you can get off thesims3.com.
      Riverview has many places.
Personally, this warehouse is great, because it’s near my sims work, and it gives plenty of people to interview.

  6. 14 d July 13, 2009 at 10:39 am

Seems like the men in that world have a secret book club instead of a secret fight club.

first time poster and have bookmarked this website. The story entries are captivating, even the ones that have no text.. not that i am encouraging the wordless entries BTW.

  7. 15 jer July 13, 2009 at 10:40 am

    Is this a community lot?

    • 16 FyireChilde July 13, 2009 at 5:37 pm

Yes, that is a community lot in the town of Riverview. It’s near the hospital, lower end diner and a public pool.

  8. 17 MaryK. July 13, 2009 at 10:48 am

    What town is she using?

    • 20 Mr.burk July 13, 2009 at 1:20 pm

ya its riverview. every place or person she mentions is in riverview.

    • 22 saw July 13, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Riverview( a free downloadable town on the sims 3 website\)

      • 23 Sims3LOVER July 13, 2009 at 2:33 pm

It definitly IS riverview b/c he was in love with the grisby girl and they are riverview exclusive also the farm that kev runs to in a chapter, Riverview exclusive as well

    • 24 Cute_E_Pie July 13, 2009 at 5:27 pm

Hey I downloaded Alice and Kev and have been play them in the Sims 3 in the town in comes with. I was wondering now that I know what town they really live in. Is there a way to move sim families from one town to a different one?

      • 25 Cute_E_Pie July 13, 2009 at 5:27 pm

        oops playing…sorry.

      • 26 Eva July 13, 2009 at 8:01 pm

How’d you download them? Are they on the site?

      • 27 StefExum July 13, 2009 at 11:56 pm

Hey Cute_E_Pie: Yes there is a way for you to move an existing family to another town. Just go into edit town mode click on the household you want to move and select the option at the bottom that says copy to library; it’s buton with the folder. Then it will give you the option to save the family with the lot they’re on or just by themselves. They lose all their relationships outside of the home but they’ll still have there jobs and skills. Then go into the town you want to play and there you’ll find them in the library.

  9. 28 Pooka July 13, 2009 at 11:13 am

Isn’t that one old guy reading the ex of the lady Kev was courting? Maybe this isn’t just a secret book club, but a secret loser’s club! And if I’m correct, this is the free town you can download from the Sims 3 website.

    • 29 katiegirl1996 July 13, 2009 at 2:41 pm

yes, it is yvettes ex-husband. i didn’t notice it until you pointed it out! 😛

    • 31 Cute_E_Pie July 15, 2009 at 2:55 am

Eva if look at the Top of the page next to “about me” It says “Download Alice and Kev”. If you click on “Download Alice and Kev” It will send you to a page that allows you to download Alice and Kev with Alice as a teen or a child. Also you need to be logged on to the sims 3 web site for it to work.

It’s All The Rave, a community place.

  12. 34 toni July 13, 2009 at 12:23 pm

Can’t she sneak in a free shower at the gym? 🙂

  13. 39 angrygn0me July 13, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Did anyone else notice that Alice suddenly has shoes?

  14. 45 A-Sha July 13, 2009 at 12:31 pm

-_-” I’m sure Zed hates Kev a lot for making Zed’s house his own…

  15. 46 rogerdodger777 July 13, 2009 at 12:46 pm

i saw this wharehouse in my game today, it seems kinda pointless.
it would have been cool for Alice to live there, but I guess if it’s so inhabited it wouldn’t be any good.

  16. 47 Mythos July 13, 2009 at 12:49 pm

The fourth picture kinda looks like she has a cape made of stink.

  17. 49 Collin July 13, 2009 at 1:11 pm

I love it in this when there is a recurring civilian.

Like, one of the guys reading at the table is the husband of the lady Kev almost married.

Another example, once a random civilian was helping Alice with her homework, and happened to be one of the ladies Kev used to hit on and tried to kiss.

  18. 50 milly July 13, 2009 at 1:25 pm

i hope alice finds a place to live or to get away for kev

  19. 52 Johnny C. July 13, 2009 at 1:40 pm

This blog is so randomly funny i couldn’t help but to have a live RSS of it on my firefox tab 😀

    -Keep up the good work!

How on Earth can a homeless person afford a mobile phone? Or get one in the first place?

  21. 59 saw July 13, 2009 at 2:26 pm

Nice, are you gonna post 3 to make up for the weekend?

  22. 60 Ryann July 13, 2009 at 2:27 pm

Please reply faster! I’m going crazy!

  23. 61 John Doe July 13, 2009 at 3:37 pm

    haha Yvette’s (ex?)husband chills here?

Wow she is in dire need of a shower, did breaking Zed’s shower have more of an effect than we previously had thought?

  24. 62 Lorraine July 13, 2009 at 3:40 pm

I guess Kev’s managed to not do anything inappropriate at Zeb’s place so far; otherwise Zeb would have automatically asked Kev to leave. Maybe Kev is softening up in his old age… Or maybe Zeb has the “Good” trait like Alice, which would make him more patient than most people.

What are this Alice’s new traits? Didn’t she get new ones when she became a young adult? Does she have a lifetime wish?

I really think she needs to get a full-time job. That way she can donate money to charity and still have some left over to make a decent life for herself.

    • 63 Ryann July 13, 2009 at 4:24 pm

He does NOT have the Good trait

      • 64 Samantha July 14, 2009 at 7:34 am

how do you know he does NOT have the good trait? just curious.

and since kev is inappropriate to begin with people dont kick him out for being inappropriate… its one of the reasons i think my kev doesn’t just die of hunger because I dont play him as much as i do alice. I just drop him off at someones home and he does what he wants til its too late and hes kicked out for that

    • 65 runsula July 13, 2009 at 4:46 pm

I think because Zeb has the Childish trait he just puts up with most of it, but a sim can only take so much……. 😉

      • 66 TeamJacob July 14, 2009 at 3:35 am

why do you keep calling him zeb?
its ZEDEDIAS (i dont think i spelt that rite but theres no B anywhere in that) u get the point.

      • 67 Julie July 14, 2009 at 3:38 am

Is Zedadias a random character that moves in with Story mode on?

  25. 68 Robbo July 13, 2009 at 4:01 pm

Looks like some sort of secret society! XD

  26. 69 Kalika July 13, 2009 at 4:07 pm

That guy in the last picture in the silver shirt reading..
    Isn’t that Yvette’s husband?

  27. 70 Nina July 13, 2009 at 4:33 pm

Wow.. This is THE best blog I’ve ever read. Keep it up, it is absolutely fantastic!

Good god, I surely hope Alice gets her head together and starts saving up for a place of her own (far away from the benches she and her father calls home).

  28. 71 Holly July 13, 2009 at 4:48 pm

Wow Roburksy you always find or build such amazing places! Great add onto the story! Loving it everyday the more I read The More I am addicted.

  29. 72 Nadine July 13, 2009 at 4:50 pm

There is an gym in riverview. In one town the gym is right next door to the school. I believe it is near the town square (park).

  30. 73 Hayley July 13, 2009 at 5:47 pm

Alice finds the most coolest places.I hope one day Alice will get the life she should live. When will Kev leave.

  33. 80 justadreame July 13, 2009 at 6:19 pm

Hm, what town is this in? I JUST got my copy of the Sims 3 (yay, finally! xD) and I wondered what town you use for Alice and Kev?

  34. 84 Sayoni July 13, 2009 at 6:20 pm

Alice has some fresh kicks…that girl does need to bath. I mean I know in real life homeless people can’t shower the way they want but she could bath in a sink…couldn’t she…

    • 85 Rachel July 14, 2009 at 3:30 am

Well… In the Sims 2 sims could bathe in sinks [sort of a sponge bath scenario] but only if they were VERY dirty… I don’t think that’s possible in the Sims 3, but maybe. All I know is that they could do it in Sims 2, but it hasn’t happened to me yet in the Sims 3.

    • 87 Mouchas July 15, 2009 at 1:01 am

It actually is available in Sims 3 – my sim recieved that option. I didn’t know it was available in Sims 2 – we both learned something new!

  35. 88 Alice and Kev Fan July 13, 2009 at 6:38 pm

Interesting…If Alice squats here occasionally, I hope Kev doesn’t find her and disturb her.

Did Alice get any additional hidden traits?

I can’t wait to get started on my own game. Unfortunately now, my laptop and sims3 game and myself are separated by three states. 😦

    • 89 celara July 14, 2009 at 3:32 am

One thing to consider: If Alice does wind up squatting here on occasion, and Kev comes in search of her, there is a chance that Yvette’s ex-husband may show up at the same time.

Things could get real interesting then. 😉

  36. 90 kappa in a handbag July 13, 2009 at 6:44 pm

I keep wondering why Alice doesn’t just shower at the gym. Anyone can use the plumbing there.

  37. 91 Westiedog12 July 13, 2009 at 6:45 pm

notice everyone reading is old. And that grisby guy is there too. (=/ wierd huh? Hey Robin? I think you should send alice to the gym for a shower. I’m worried she could get a bacterial infection she’s so dirty. Kev i could care less about.

  38. 92 Westiedog12 July 13, 2009 at 6:47 pm

Okay i apologize i didn’t read the comment before mine. Sorry, it just takes to long to read them. {:(

  39. 93 Westiedog12 July 13, 2009 at 6:52 pm

oh and justadreame, you have to download this town off thesims3.com (i don’t care if i spelled it wrong). The guy who lives in the abandoned fire house can set stuff on fire. Talk about hidden traits.

  40. 94 h-yion July 13, 2009 at 7:39 pm

So now that Alice is a young adult, does she still have to go to school?

  42. 98 Anna July 13, 2009 at 8:17 pm

wow!! Finally poor Alice gets some peace and quiet, and suddenly- invasion of the old people. It’s too bad, though. I mean, even if she saved up for a house, it’d take forever.
    poor Alice.

  43. 100 Go Cat Dave July 13, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Wow, I’ll have to look for that warehouse. It’s amazing how detailed Sunset Valley is. My martian family has barely scratched the surface yet. Btw, I’d love it if you would pop by my blog and leave some comments there too. Hardly anyone has found it yet. 😦
    Thanks! Dave

Is this story set in Riverview?

  48. 106 Allison July 14, 2009 at 3:25 am

I was wondering how you are going to end this blog. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE this and wish it went on forever. But kev is gonna die soon and alice will too, eventually. So after they do are you going to start another blog sort of thing like this with sims? I love reading blogs about something I’m interested in!

  49. 107 :D July 14, 2009 at 4:11 am

This story really makes me want to play the sims 3.

I just want to say that I LOVE this blog, and the pictures are just freakin’ amazing! So sharp and clear…it’s like the Sims 3 HD.

  54. 113 zigazz July 14, 2009 at 7:13 am

    hey…. nice blog.

have a question though… in my sims 3, i cant see the inside of any building except my house and certain other ones… is that ok or is it possible to see inside the hospital, diner, etc?

    • 114 Mouchas July 15, 2009 at 1:26 am

Your computer / game is fine – its’ really sad that some places we can not see in. Other sim’s houses we can not see in either until they invite you in, then you can see. Maybe / hopefully that will change with expansion packs.

  55. 115 JaciJuiceBoxx July 14, 2009 at 8:31 am

    is Zedidas*sp?* in riverview already?

  56. 117 katierose July 14, 2009 at 9:18 am

poor Alice will she ever catch a break?
i wonder why Kev is still bugging Zed …..

  57. 118 katierose July 14, 2009 at 9:23 am

  58. 119 califoreava July 14, 2009 at 9:36 am

I still want Zed and Alice together :/ but before that I hope she takes a shower. i mean… it’s just… the green is..disturbing…

  61. 122 Marie July 14, 2009 at 12:10 pm

I love this place! a secret warehouse Library, like a speakeasy for books.

Does it come with the game or did you build it?

  62. 125 london27 July 14, 2009 at 2:38 pm

i love this story sooooo much!! 🙂
im trying to write 1 but im not professional!
and i started reading this story a few days ago and i cant stop! 🙂

  63. 126 ChaosMageX July 14, 2009 at 7:51 pm

In that final picture, that elder woman in the right corner…is that Render Girl, or her mom? Did they actually put her in Riverview or is that just a random townie that look like her?
I think it might be the latter, but who knows, the eaxoids might have put her in as a fan service.

  64. 127 kansine July 14, 2009 at 11:15 pm

Lol, at first I looked that he old lady in the last pic is naked XD XD Doesn’t it look like she is? But anyway, again another intresting episode, thanks 😀 It’s really fun how sims always swarm on community lot’s, no matter what kind of lot’s they are XD I have never succeeded to download Riverview, I guess my web connection is too slow 😦

    • 128 Mouchas July 15, 2009 at 1:38 am

Keep trying. I had to do this to some things as well and it helped me to just restart my computer. I am not sure if it something running in the back round interupting or what. My computer is new and my internet provider is a really good one and fast connection and I was having some issues. Oh, yes – also download the new patch!

  65. 129 Cookie July 15, 2009 at 1:20 am

What is the point of the warehouse anyways?

Maybe she could use it to take a nap here and there. Kev probably wouldn’t go there on his own, and while people seem to go and read there (lol) at least it has a couch.

  66. 130 Myles July 15, 2009 at 5:20 pm

Does she really need the privacy? It seems like a good place.
