Alice is still very hungry, so before she and Zedadias go to bed, she decides to cook a meal for them both.
Zedadias looks terribly anxious about this. This might be because this is the first time she has ever cooked, and she doesn’t exactly have a good track record with using his appliances so far.
Zedadias’ caution turns out to be justified. Alice burns the meal.
This doesn’t bother Alice much. I’m sure she’d eat anything at this point. Zedadias sits down and eats it with her, politely making no comment about the quality of the food.
Afterwards, they both get up to head for their beds. but it seems neither Alice nor I had realised quite how tired she was, as she collapses on the floor. It’s the first time she’s been given permission to sleep in a bed for a night, but she never even reaches it.
Zedadias doesn’t realise what’s happened. He’s already started on his important bedtime routine.

WOW his routine looks remarkably like mine. If you don’t practice your “young irresponsible and aloof dude trying really hard not to look practiced” pose, it CAN fade away. Not a lot of people know this, and mourn it when they get older. Not me. I will be doing that horrible peace sign every time a camera is pointed at me until I die.

I have the game, he is suppose to live right across the street from alice, but he moved in to the house during the story. I didn’t realize it was right across the street from them and I moved my family into the house. Z is an npc but I’m not sure where he comes from. RoBurkey could have gone to edit toen mode and dropped z into the house or he could have grown up in the town ansd then moved there.

problem:
whenever i put the disk into my computer, nothing pops up so i went to my computer and double clicked on the sims 3 icon and it said that it wasn’t a valid win32 application. i have no idea whats wrong and i tried installing it on other computers and it worked but my other computers don’t have the system requirements so i can’t play it. does anyone know how to fix it or what the problem is? thanks a bunch you guys. i’m really annoyed and frustrated and i don’t wanna waste $50

This Zedadias character seems too childish and self-involved for a serious relationship. Staring at himself in the mirror? Making funny faces? This is a grown man. Alice needs to find someone more mature and responsible like her father.

You just don’t understand Kev. He’s on higher level than the rest of us. He has to prepare Alice for the harsh realities she’ll have to face when he’s gone. You’ll understand when you’re a parent.
He’s not being self-absorbed, he’s entertaining himself without turning on the tv so he doesn’t accidentally wake up alice. AND i think alice needs someone who is childish, its a good way to help her have fun in life shes had to grow up far too fast.
I just don’t understand why he doesn’t just read a book or something. He must not be able to read. I don’t think Alice should waste her time with someone who doesn’t even know how to read.

I’m not offended, you’re just wrong. The world of the Sims is a dark, dangerous place with constant threats of starvation, sleep deprivation, and physical violence among others. If Kev doesn’t impart even this slim fraction of his wisdom to Alice, who would? Zedadias? What’s Zedadias taught Alice except how to burn macaroni and cheese and that if you sleep in others’ beds, they’ll only make funny faces at themselves? Alice needs to learn self-reliance, but Zedadias is only interested in taking advantage of her. Shameful, really.

I too am wondering about what will happen next to Kev, and how this blossoming relationship with Zed will go. I’m glad to see that Zed was able to allow Alice to try her hand at cooking. For a first attempt, a burnt meal was the least of his problems. I was worried she would burn down his house!
I’ve been working on my own Sims 3 story, and it can be difficult. With mine being a family story, it’s sometimes hard finding something that is a plot twist (toilet training is a bit tedious). There are a few things that have been interesting twists that were certainly unexpected.
Yeah, I agree. Though I was watching a documentary on this homeless fellow who was given like $150,000 to do with as he would. I remember a scene where he got himself a hotel room, but couldn’t bear to sleep on the bed because he hadn’t done so in years and he said the bed was too soft. So yeah, he slept on the floor even though there were two queen beds next to him.

Definitely disagree with all the comments saying that the two should get married though–what’s wrong with being friends? And what kind of message would it send if that is how she gets out of homelessness? “Homeless women can/should just shack up with some guy and all their problems will be over”? I would like to see her improve her life through her own power and the support of friends like Zedadias, rather than be “saved” by him.
Who’s saying Zedadias is saving her from anything? There’s nothing wrong with being in a relationship either.
I don’t really think there’s anything wrong with being in a relationship, I just question the assumption that they should be in a relationship just because they’re friends and she needs help–which so far is all we’ve seen of them. And maybe I was misreading people’s comments, and if I did I apologize.
As the story continues and we get more information it might become clear that it really is best for her character and what she wants, in which case I’ll change my mind. For now I’d just like to see where things go and watch Alice grow.

If Alice does move in, Zed should start dating another sim, and Alice should improve a skill in some area. It be interesting to see what Zed’s girlfriend thinks of Alice.

As a long time player of “The Sims”, I really love your blog. Why doesn’t Alice just move in with Zedadias?
I wish in a way that she would, but then again, the story would be less interesting then. But maybe if she just visited him every now and then to at least get some decent sleep and get her fun bar filled, she could make money on her own and start to build up her lot.. She *could* be successful in just about any job if she tried really hard to keep the aforementioned needs up and went to the library to improve her skills. It would take a long time, but eventually she would be able to establish herself and also make more friends through work. 🙂

Hey My sim Fibi is Kind of Like alice and Kev. (Not trying to copy I just thought it would be cool to be homeless) So I checked it out first with a Test Family. I really liked it! I Felt Bad for the toddler though. Anyway FIbi is a level 8 guitarist and she earns about 300 $ in tips anyway. I thought hmm how will this be a good Idea. Then those 300 dollar tips doesn’t cover a 2,000 bill…So shes Homeless Now..Poor Fibi…Oh well nice story!

What an amazing story. Seriously, it’s impressive how far the Sims got with this version. Anyone remembers the first sims? It just became even less comparable..
I remember the first Sims. I still have it, as a matter of fact. I should go back and play it and then compare/contrast “The sims” and “The Sims 3.” I wonder how bored I would be after playing “The sims” for one minute after playing The Sims 3 for an hour…
Is it just me, or does anyone else think Zed’s childish trait is exactly what helps make this relationship work? Alice didn’t have a proper childhood, so Zed might help her feel some of the relief and joy that children get to enjoy. The childish trait may also let Zed remain calm and carefree when Alice does something inappropriate. I think this relationship might just work 🙂
