Anita

The next morning, a hungry, tired, stressed Alice has an argument with her father before climbing aboard the school bus. She spends a miserable day at school, unable to work hard, and falls short of fulfilling her wish. But as she’s leaving at the end of the day, she recieves an unexpected offer.

When she was a child avoiding having to go home to her father, Alice sat in the juice bar one time and did her homework with another girl called Anita. They had become friends over time, although they had mostly only spoken on the phone since then.

But today, Anita invited Alice to come home with her after school.

Alice already knew that Anita was a genius, who often wandered away from her, lost in thought.

What Alice hadn’t known before was that Anita’s family was rich.

She spent a while wandering the house in amazement, despite being badly in need of rest, food, and stress relief.

And as she sat down in front of the enormous television, neither she nor I realised she was already late for her new job.

Next: Selflessness

    Anita looks a little butch

  3. 8 Andy June 15, 2009 at 8:59 am

Oh no, is this going to be a turning point for Alice? First not getting the grade she wanted and now she’s not turned up for work, is this a similar path that Kev trod that led him down the path to homelessness?

Oh lord she’s totally going to rape Alice in the shower!

  5. 16 beeslife June 15, 2009 at 9:32 am

Oh dear. Alice is in trouble!

  6. 17 John Smith June 15, 2009 at 9:36 am

  7. 18 itsallcrap June 15, 2009 at 9:46 am

For a mindless heap of code and pixels, this girl is pretty inspiring.

    Oh oh…

I’ve just stumbled across your blog today, via a link from b3ta.

You are one insanely skilled story-teller!

    Congratulations!

    I LOVE this alot 😉

  10. 21 Hayree June 15, 2009 at 10:49 am

This somewhat reminds me of the book, Go Ask Alice. Just when things are going right, something goes wrong. Oh well, I’ll read anyway. There’s no way I could stop reading this story!

  11. 22 Shayne June 15, 2009 at 11:49 am

I sumbled upon this blog, and it’s amazing! This is better then TV! Keep up the good word, and when you decide to stop, or are forced to stop this, do a blog about a normal sim family..maybe with a secret, maybe the father just died or something…

  12. 23 Mortal June 15, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Awesome, an amazon.co.uk referral. I’m getting this.

  13. 24 Jin June 15, 2009 at 1:59 pm

A very compelling story. I like how each update is small but still a self-contained piece of the overall story. It lets me keep interest easier and I have something interesting to look forward to every day!
    Awesome job writing!

  14. 25 Rhi1994 June 15, 2009 at 2:20 pm

Wow, this is a really good story. I hope things turn out for Alice in the end. I’m not too sure her father deserves one. 😛

    Loving this so far.
You have a very amusing writing style.
You know, in the parts that are supposed to be funny.

  21. 32 Eric Richardville June 15, 2009 at 5:12 pm

Very nice. I like that you bring to light real world needs through the Sims; very respectable, my hat is off to you. This is just one more reason why this is one of the coolest blogs, well, anywhere. Yet another great adventure, I wonder what Alice and Anita will do next.

  22. 33 m4k2004 June 15, 2009 at 5:32 pm

Man I love Alice and I hope she doesn’t lose her new job because of this 😦

  23. 34 Samantha June 15, 2009 at 6:21 pm

I really enjoy this story. I tried to make my own homeless family, not to cause the same sadness but to see how difficult it was. I found my sims actually lived more in the 28 hour wellness gym because theres a fridge, shower, toilet, stereo, tv, and comfortable benches there to sleep on. Problem is I took the difficulty out of it so I removed them and played my other family. I did put Alice and Kev in my neighborhod as NPCs though. They act differently, they like eachother more (play tag and have decent conversations) and they’re not always unhappy. I think NPCs might not be able to have negative mood or moodlets…or maybe they’re just doing what I did and hanging out at the gym.

  24. 35 zworg2 June 15, 2009 at 6:26 pm

    superb.
i cant stand sims (i’m male), wife loves it.

but this story is excellent, long may you keep it up.

(PS thank B3ta for my visit and for many others)

  25. 38 addtwo June 15, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Amazing! This personifies the best of Sims 3, the sims expressions, their goals, their traits, everything. This is so interesting. I’m going to try this myself!

  26. 39 Daghain June 15, 2009 at 7:23 pm

Oh, poor Alice! I hope she doesn’t lose her job!

Maybe Anita’s family will take her in.

  27. 40 arf513 June 15, 2009 at 7:51 pm

wow it just keeps getting better and better. keep it up.

  28. 41 Julia June 15, 2009 at 7:57 pm

  31. 44 Stipa June 15, 2009 at 9:19 pm

You’re an awesome writer, keep up the good work.
Without the screenshots you’d almost think all of this is a real story.

  32. 45 Hannah June 15, 2009 at 9:25 pm

This is really entertaining. I can’t wait to see what happens next! Thanks for sharing this!

  33. 46 Ray June 15, 2009 at 10:16 pm

Oh crap. And to think I thought alice was gonna have it made there, and now she might get fired? If she does get fired, will that affect her grade? :/

  34. 47 Anonymous June 15, 2009 at 10:23 pm

The ending deserves a lawl. And i think things would become a bit more interesting if you intervened once or twice. After all, abandoning homework for her job, then overworking would have an interesting aftermath…

  35. 48 Eomin Nordgren June 15, 2009 at 10:25 pm

Oh my. I can’t get enough of this story! I will have to get Sims 3 as soon as possible.

  36. 49 anon y mouse June 15, 2009 at 11:14 pm

awesome story! PLEASE! make more of them!

  37. 50 Neekay June 16, 2009 at 12:19 am

my oh my, this story is great ! It kind of makes me want to destroy my family and let them be more free… but I’ll just live that life through Alice and Kev

  38. 51 Edgar June 16, 2009 at 12:20 am

Great…this is just great. I don’t buy EA games or Sims games, but I might be tempted if it helps you with a little ad revenue, and I have this kind of control over my little sims. Keep up the great story!

  39. 52 Weetzie June 16, 2009 at 12:23 am

I really hope I’m not the only one who checks this blog compulsively for new updates. I’m so impatient! I think this might be becoming an addiction.

  40. 53 Brookelyn June 16, 2009 at 1:28 am

Heya! I just happened to stumble upon this blog today, and I immediately just fell in love with it. Irresistable is a good word. In fact, I just got the game, and reading your amazing writing is inspiring me to create a story or two of my own. Keep up the good work, and I”ll be reading.

  41. 54 David June 16, 2009 at 1:47 am

  46. 59 Tracey June 16, 2009 at 4:08 am

I’m really worried about myself that the first thing I do when I get home from work is come here to catch up on the train wreck that is Alice & Kev

    *Claps happily*
    ^_^
You’ve got an act for writing, Robin, an amazing gift. A gift that’s touched the hearts of all people willing to read. Heck, a gift that’s made it onto the News Feed of thesims3.com! You’ve wrote (or are still writing) a story that has made its readers, its fans, squeal of laughter, cry of joy or happiness, or just have a WOW! moment. Listen, please listen, you have made one story that is known almost all around the WORLD. You have a story that has fans. You have a story that beats some of the best shows on TV. You have a story that beats some of the best writers I know. You have a story that beats some of the best writing I’ve seen in a long, long time, and I’m not surprised kid and I’m not even laughing when I say this. You know I hope you write as a hobby because you have seen anything yet! This story, this WEBSITE, is going to be blown up (gotten bigger than ever) and everyone is going to know and love it like us. This is awesome kid! I want to come to this site again (sooner or later) and find out thatthis story has reached its ultimate ending, but that its not over yet. I want to hear that your onto making more and more blogs/stories like this with everything different but at the same time YOU. Don’t stop writing EVER because what you got is talent and that’s what we want to see.

Please try e-mail-ing me if you have any more ideas for blogs/stories you want to write or just want to chat at: jennyijoma@yahoo.com or undefined_mystic.love@yahoo.com

  52. 65 Clara June 16, 2009 at 7:17 am

A fascinating thing about the progression is how the style of narrative is so candid. The depth of the gameplay itself enables simple play-by-play synopses to be emotionally compelling; with the infrequency of updates, it is uncertain whether the author has acted deliberately to extract from the internet audience the reflections on the scenes that he has omitted in his own text.

Nevertheless, the part of me that hasn’t breached the fourth wall wishes that we could find out what will eventually happen to the characters sooner.

  53. 66 Walker Spaight June 16, 2009 at 7:30 am

quite genius, Rob. Nice to see it. Looking forward to more.

  54. 67 poohgrad02 June 16, 2009 at 7:51 am

Someone sent me the link to your site and I think this experiment of yours is simply brilliant. I’ll be adding a link to my site. 🙂

  57. 70 maneo June 27, 2009 at 8:49 pm

    anita lobos?

hahaha this is what i love about the fact that the neighborhoods are all the same… our sims are friends with the same people!

Anita was my neighbor… I remember, before she had aged up, she actually commissioned a painting from my (irl) girlfriend… thats how my family and hers became friends. I remember being shocked when the painting was being delivered to see that it was ordered by a little girl!

  58. 71 Miko July 4, 2009 at 2:04 am

my family’s child got invited over to this house when anita and her twin were still kids!!!! The family is the Lobos, Anita Lobos. and they’re actually rich
