It’s the weekend. Alice had a wish to see Zedadias again, so she’s back at his house to stay for a few days. When she wakes up about midday, though, she finds Zedadias has another guest.
This is Shirley Lin, who seems like they might be a girlfriend of Zedadias’, or a potential one at least. They flirt while Alice watches TV.
Things sometimes seem a little awkward between them, though, as they both occasionally reject the others’ advances.
Shirley doesn’t appear to like Alice. Several times I see her make an unpleasant face at Alice, or make signs of disapproval while thinking about her.
Nevertheless, Zedadias invites her to stay the night. Alice nearly chokes on her peanut butter sandwich. These two events are entirely unrelated.
After the meal, Zedadias and Shirley cuddle on the couch while Alice is left to clean up.

I recently found out that female sims (or males) that are close to who ever is being flirted with can receive a negative view of the person flirting if they’re in the conversation too. For example, a brother and sister sim ( let’s call them Bob and Mary) were talking, Bob’s co-worker Jill comes over and starts flirting with Bob. I’ve seen Mary get jealous and like Jill less.
Actually, she’s not jealous. If you look at her moodlet, there should be one which says disgusted or something. Flirting (in front of people, especially family) is considered as inappropriate. Lol, no incest here.

Why do Sims choke on their food everytime they eat? Doesn’t matter how well it’s cooked, or whats going on around them, my Sims always choke.
My Sims usually only do it if they’re really hungry by the time they eat. It’s like they’re so hungry that they try to eat to fast, and that seems to be why they choke.
I too have noticed that they keep choking all the time… weird O_O (or maybe I just let my sims become too hungru every time?)

I love how people just go insane over this Zed/Alice thing when the actual story contains *no romance between them at all*. You’re allowed to just be friends with people, guys! Maybe Alice isn’t upset over Zed having a love interest because she doesn’t fancy him! Or maybe she likes girls, or maybe she doesn’t have any interest in dating at all – would you, if the only man you knew growing up was a psycho jerk?
It’s kind of scary, actually. She’s just turned young adult, so barely in her 20’s, and everyone’s trying to marry her off like a prized sow.
You’re so right about Zed/Alice, but it’s hard not to hope for some romance so that Alice can have a hopefully good life, one without having to technically share a household with her crazy father.
As to the second part, about the “prized sow”, age doesn’t always mean a thing. Every person, and couple, are different. My husband and I have been together since high school, with the intent (fairly early on) to be married; we’re still going strong. We have friends whose relationship began when they were 13 and they’re still together (a couple of years younger than we are). So really…I can’t see anything wrong with Alice and Zed being married now, or hoping for it to happen. Ideally, Alice would work out her issues through counseling and become a stronger person before getting together with someone, but…
Zed is pretty much a man-child anyway. I think Alice wouldn’t think of seducing him anyway because she’s just thankful that someone would let her stay over.
Shirley looks like fun as an annoyance, though. I’d love to see her duke it out with Kev; whoever wins, we get to see somebody get taken down a peg or two. >D

Guys, the reason Alice isn’t jealous is because Zed isn’t a declared love interest. She would have to confess her attraction for him to have that happen.
Though Sims don’t get jealous from my experience–just experience negative social interactions with the other person.
First: Alice isn’t wearing new clothes, those are just her underclothes. Check other pics, that T-shirt is simply what she wears under her blue jacket.
Second: I don’t play Sims 3 (yet…). Is it possible for the sims to keep friends whith whom they are not romantically involved even after they’re married (to somebody else, that is)? I’ve never seen any signs that Alice & Zed were other than Just Friends.
Third: Is polyamory an option within the game? That is to say, can a person have multiple partners, without keeping it a secret?
Well they can have multiple partners but if you tell the other sim they would probably break up with them. And yes you can keep friends that they arent romantically involved with.
I heard there was a hack/ mod for Sims 2 for polyamory. I never downloaded it, so I couldn’t tell you how it worked, exactly. I’d love to find one for Sims 3. It would make the game more realistic for many people I know.

Roburky, I was just curious. Has Alice rolled any wishes to, or has autonomously tried to make any flirty advances towards anyone at all? Because my experience says the only time a sim hasn’t this far late in their life is that they’re unflirty. But even then, I think most my unflirty sims have at least rolled a want for a first kiss, or to have a baby or something sooner or later.

Even if Zed and Shirley are partners in the game it will be quite hard for it to actually work, the reason being that two of Shirley’s traits are Hopeless Romantic and Unflirty, which makes her amorous one minute but rejecting the other party’s advances the next. It makes it VERY frustrating when trying to win her over.
Anyways, it won’t be the end of the world if Zed isn’t into Alice. Heck, Alice might bag some hunk like Dean, who lives in the firehouse, or Caspian the artist. The possibilities are endless 🙂

Really interesting plot development. I am seriously considering getting Sims3 if I ever get a Windows PC again, just for the possibility to mess around with random people’s lives. I found this a couple weeks ago and I’ve loved ever since i check to see whats happening on the days your updating. This is really good story. I hope that Alice ends up with Zedadias.

This ISN’T a love novel, it’s a story about 2 simulated characters in a very advanced simulated world. It’s fun to observe their reactions WITHOUT interference, to see how it all plays out. If he deleted Shirley, or MAKES her leave so Alice ends up with Zed, whats to stop him from deleting Kev, or ANYONE that would get in Alices way?
Why doesn’t he just delete the old couple and move Alice in there?
