After Alice and Zedadias had each eaten a slice of the needlessly expensive cake, they returned to Zedadias’ house. I wanted Alice to ask him to let her sleep over, but the conversation option wasn’t there. While I can exert a large amount of control over my characters when I choose to, I often can’t make them say something if they’re not ready to do that, and Alice, for whatever reason, didn’t want to. It was late in the evening before she felt ready.
But she need not have worried. Zedadias was happy to give her the spare bed for the night.
Once again, Zedadias has shown a small amount of compassion, but it’s still more than anyone has ever done for her in her life.

I reckon the story won’t get back to Kev for another few ‘episodes’. I think it’d be cool to increase the suspense and have him return next week in a fantastic twist. I can’t imagine what he’s doing, and having played the game extensively I know there’s not a lot you CAN do by just walking out of the town. In fact, if you’re sims leave the town they’re gone, into the abyss, and will never return.

I think this series is coming to an end. Kev wandered off and I don’t think he’ll ever be back. Alice has a good thing going and wedding bells can happen mighty quick in this game. Let’s face it, if it wasn’t for the green stink on her, I think Zedadias would be ready to offer her a different bed, if you know what I mean. Men are like that.

This is such a wonderful journey you are taking us on. I stumbled upon it, how I don’t remember but spent a considerable amount of time “catching” up. This is so muct better that a daytime television soap.
Couple of questions: Now that she’s transitioned to her next stage of growth, has she got any new aspirations? And now that she’s out of school, does she lose her job? She originally started the job simply to improve her grades.

I know you don’t lose your job when you grow up, Leis–or at least, you didn’t in the sims 2. So I doubt you would in ts3
You can have part-time jobs in TS3 as young adults, adults, or even elders. Chances are, she kept the job.
This will sound rude… and so I apologize ahead of time, but… what the hell are you doing that restrains you to only making one single tiny post a day… and making us wait forever… or at least it seems like forever to your deeply devoted fans.
I don’t know, Rachel, maybe she has a life and other obligations, and maybe she just doesn’t feel like spending a lot of time on a blog every day? And maybe you need to lose that sense of entitlement and remember that her day doesn’t revolve around you? And maybe, if they’re too short for you, do what I do and only check once a week or every few days so they build up and are more to read at once.

What has happened to kev? Is her crazy father still going to be in it? I hope kev comes back and makes amends with Alice before he passes! He better or else that is just cruel Alice has come such a long way for Kev not to! Will kev ever come back? Or is he gone for good? I’m kind of guessing he’s gone on a quest to marry someone who can give him ambrosia before he kicks the final garbage can.
I hope Alice doesn’t get hurt by this. Zed looks like he’s got a bit too much self-interest for a good relationship, and Alice will probably put up with anything after dealing with Kev for so long.
Seems to me that, given the fact Alice has already gone through two life stages, Kev is probably reaching the end of elderhood. That is to say, the walking out into the middle of nowhere is a story way to deal with the Sims automatic age death.

It depends on if the author has aging turned off and uses testingCheatsEnabled true to make Alice and Kev age, and how long he has set their lifes for. If their lifes are on epic, expect Kev to be around for awhile.

Short, but sweet, and fantastic continuing story as always.
Though, I have to say, I keep seeing a lot of people saying Alice and Zed need to get married for her to be happy and all that. As compassionate as he is, and great as it would be for her to find someone, I don’t think Alice should just get married and have her problems solved, happily ever after. She’s a fighter, not a damsel needing to be saved.
She’ll save herself, and get the guy after. =)

Have some questions:
1. Who is Alice’s biological mother (Who would do the nasty with KEV??)
2:That brings up another question. Were they always homeless, or was there a happy, previous life that went wrong, making Kev bitter and mean? Maybe there was a Mother in the picture.
Having not played the game I was hoping someone could answer this question…
Is Zed another player? Was he constructed by Robin, the same person who constructed Alice and Kev? Is he a part of the computer town? Where does Zed or anyone else outside of Alice and Kev come from?
It depends Zed can be created but there are also characters that come with the town that will grow and develop right along with the ones you’re playing.
Z is an NPC. The game comes with a town fully populated and through story progression it will age the rest of the town and have them get jobs and have babies and die and whatnot. Everything is mostly seamless so you can see the other houses and people walking around.
It is true that Z is an npc, but it would be nice to know where he came from because in the neighborhood that house is empty to start with and z doesn’t exist. I would like to know if he grew up in riverview, move in from out of town (some do that) or if he was create and dropped in during edit town mode.

Totally not wrong to wish them love! However, I really think Alice should find love elsewhere.. Like, in a hobby (gardening) or with new friends.. She is SO not ready for romantic involvement. She needs to experience normalcy.. and how to interact with normal people.. lol

I agree with Kir! I would be disappointed if they got married and that solved all of Alice’s problems. Although it would be a great ending, it seems like it’s an all too easy way out. Of course, unless Zedidias moved to the park with Alice and they continued building their lives together from nothing. I think everyone is hooked on the struggle Alice is dealing with and although everyone wants to see her succeed, I think we all would prefer if she worked for it and didn’t get married and get all Zedidias’ money and home.
Again, you are doing a great job at keeping this story going and all of us hanging on! I find myself coming on every day to see what Alice and Kev are up to.

The story would be way too simple if it ended up Alice + Zed = Happily Ever After. I’m thinking it’s almost too easy.
As for Kev, my theory is this: What if he wasn’t always such a social Godzilla? I think he could actually have been a pretty decent guy before his wife left the scene. They might have been very in love, and then Mrs. Kev had an unfortunate demise, driving Kev into a spiraling pit of depression and anger from which he can only people that remind him of his past (Alice). Maybe the reason he’s so flirty is because he’s desperately trying to fill a void left my the passing of his love. Maybe his eventual failure with his latest conquest has caused him to need some alone time to think.
Then again, there’s an equally good chance he’s out catching butterflies and wondering about llamas, just to be fair.
Why Are the people who make the sims so obbsessed with lamas anyway?

I do so hope Kev survives to grandparenthood. He could still be such an interesting foil in this story. Example: Alice and Zedadias marry and have a baby. Kev shows up. Can you imagine that?
Baby: “Mommy, why does grampa Kev hate me?”
or,
Baby: “Daddy, why does grampa Kev like to slap me?”
Yes it’s sick, but life’s like that. We know what Alice would do, but what about Zedadias?
Better yet, Alice realizes as her child grows up that it’s a throwback to Grampa Kev (cue the music from Psycho’s shower scene!)
Oh, and to y’all who are complaining about RoBurky not being here as much as before: It could be that he’s fielding calls and job offers from gaming companies. If I ran one, I’d most certainly be after his employable carcass. As it is, I’d just like to adopt him. 😀

Oh gosh. I’m hooked. I light up every day when I think, “Ooh, there might be another episode of Alice and Kev up.” It’s like my daily fix of soap opera, but better.
In a way, I hope these two don’t find romance, because it’s more interesting seeing the situations Alice and Kev get themselves into, and the conflict between them which would be lost if either of them were to move away from the other. And getting a job – to me, it would be more realistic, as many real homeless people struggle to get a job without a permanent address, if Alice were to remain destitute. And if they gain money, it kind of defeats the point of the experiment. Or so I’d say.

I think its sort of part of the enjoyment of the story thinking about what happens next. I’ve never thought about it being a happy ending vs tragedy but I have been worried it won’t provide much closure. with the story surrounding alice and kev being homeless and their struggles I worry when kev dies how that will affect the story. I worry if alice finds someone to marry will that be it? will it be she lived happily ever after the end? I think if she marries before kev dies she’d probably be too good to leave him on the park bench and offer him the spare room (or couch if she has no extra bed)…which could help keep the story going a little bit longer as he’d still try to annoy her.
While i don’t want it to be a tragedy I would like to follow alice’s life as long as is possible. I hope that when this story is over another one takes its place. Perhaps a little girl and her big brother are abandoned by their parents. The parents could actually be living in the neighborhood in a nice house while the kids were left in a shack. (perhaps I will try to do this now that I’ve thought of it)
If this is a soap opera Kev will come back just in time to ruin the wedding somehow…

An ending, or a segment of the story involving Alice and Zed would be endearing, to my opinion, and Alice does enough fighting in her life already. I never really got into soap operas (except out of desperation to watch something, ANYTHING! in English), and I certainly never felt much for any of the characters. This, on the other hand, is absolutely addictive. Even though the only actual human involved is roBurky, it’s way more compelling than any soap opera I’ve ever watched. As soon as I finish reading one post, I feel disappointed that it’s over, and I can’t wait for the next one. Incredible!
