It’s the weekend again. Alice will have to find food at some point, but she’s not in need yet. For now, she visits the library. Whenever she gets the chance, Alice loves to read. She’ll choose anything with romance in it.
Kev has followed her in, but on his way to the computer to make inappopriate forum posts, he is intercepted by a woman he has never met, who tries to hug him. He finally experiences this kind of behaviour from the other side.
Alice got little sleep last night due to Kev’s return, so she has to head outside in the afternoon to find a place to nap.
Once again, however, she is disturbed as Kev catches up with her.
It seems Kev is still in need of comfort. It’s just unfortunate for Alice that he gets it through following her around and criticising her.
Alice tries again to apologise, in an attempt to persuade Kev to leave her alone. Kev’s answer doesn’t change.

this post was worth the wait. I enjoy seeing Alice enjoy herself (in the bookstore) and despite her unhappy situation with Kev at the moment when she goes to lay down on the bench she looks pleased. Its almost an uplifting picture.

I don’t know what to think at all actually.
To be honest when I was 10 I suddenly developed this dream of giving a million dollars to a homeless person. But some people explained how it was irrational and I took a philosophy class this summer so I don’t know what to think about that anymore.

when I made a homeless family, I just bought a whole bunch of worthless trees and statues with no house to put it all in.
Now they think they’re *home* is nicely decorated. But I guess dude might have used a cheat or something. IDK, I was wondering myself.
To remove all their money, you activate the cheat box, type testingcheatsenabled true, and then write FamilyFunds (insert family surname) (insert amount of money desired)

Alice is the one apologizing because she’s the one with the good nature. In real life, she would be the one apologizing because she’s the one being abused. Assuming her personal growth allows it, she will outgrow apologizing to him, and begin standing up for herself.

I don’t believe Alice ever met the family with the old woman that Kev proposed too… She should go there, as Kev might not feel like going back. Plus, I kind of want to see what happened to them after Kev left, if She went back with that old guy with big ears.

As usual, well done on this update. Been glued to the bookmarked link everytime I’m online. Do Sims die? I wonder what would happen if something bad happens to Kev… hmmm…
They can die due to “unfortunate accidents” (arranged by their creator / operator), or if you have aging enabled, they will eventually grow old & die of natural causes.
They can die of natural causes even if the player doesn’t intervene! Once in sims 2 one of my sims died, when a satellite all of a sudden fell from the sky on her XD
That has only happened once, even if I have played sims 2 insanely much… In sims 2 they could also die of some disease, I don’t know about sims 3 yet.
See, you can die 13 ways in the sims 2, I’m expecting just as much in the sims 3. The ways without expansion packs are: Satellite while you are watching the clouds, flu or dire sickness, fire(leaving the stove running when food’s done or putting flammable items near the lit fireplace, old age(this is my favourite because theres a hula zombie hehe), desperation(food or sleep or both, if you faint then you know they will die soon, just go to the 4th option, ultra skip through currect action), electric shock(when touching, using, or fixing an electronic object near water or pee), fright of seeing a ghost if they don’t want to, and i forget the rest. They have them all on youtube. hehe. Oh and just so u know, u should subscribe 2 Sims2Geek4Ever. Awesome vids! xD

It’s natural, at alice’s stage, to apologize. It’s disturbing, but indeed fitting, to the fact that she’s being abused by Kev. Until something changes within Alice, she’ll respond to his abuse by internalizing it and trying to make amends.
She should totally call kids help phone!!!

Wait, wait – why can I see inside that public building? Is this one of the exceptions to the “invisible on the inside” rule about public buildings (i.e.: like the fitness center?).
Robin may just have the walls set to all the way up, or something.
The library (like the gym) are buildings in which you can interact. So you can see inside of them. You only have one option when going to a restaurant, or when going to the supermarket. But when going to the gym or the library, you can still play your sim, therefore you can see inside 🙂
certain community buildings you can see inside of like the museum and library, although most you cant like the grocery store and city hall
It was nice to see Alice enjoy herself a bit even as Kev was intent on bugging her. She should grow up and move out soon. That good for nothing father of hers has already blighted her childhood enough. Maybe she could grow up to like Zedidas and move in with him?

Kev has been wearing a ring from the beginning. Whether it is from a previous marriage (since we know nothing of Kev’s relationship to Alice’s mother), or from a lucky moment of dumpster diving, we don’t know. Also, we don’t know if that ring is real or something dug up from a Cracker Jack box.

I downloaded Alice and Kev as a new user and after Alice got locked out on the Spenster’s back deck and nearly died she got taken away by what we call in America as CPS (Child Protective Services) because of hunger and neglect!!! keV has since been trying to make arrears by calling Alice, even though I can’t control her or find her, started a job at City Hall, and taken up gardening and fishing in his spare time. He found a pink diamond in the rubbish, and was able to install a toilet, bath, bed and a dingy cinderblock house on the lot. I hope he is able to get Alice back someday, not sure if that is an option.

I agree with the posters who mentioned Alice should have shoes. I downloaded them and gave her a grungy pair of flip-flops. After all, you can get flip-flops for about a dollar and they last forever because you don’t really grow out of them.
I probably do a little bit more controlling of my sims, because their lives are totally different. Kev and Alice were even best friends for awhile… and he’s only had the “be mean to Alice” wish twice, and only when he had 4 other wishes already, so it was never fulfilled. Eventually Kev ended up marrying Claire Ursine and they moved in with her and her daughter, who is both evil and friendly… which was fascinating. They all got along pretty well, oddly enough. I also helped Kev and Alice survive by having Kev pick up some seeds and planting some apple trees. Gardening helped distract him from his more malicious desires as well. (Imply someone’s mother is a llama… or… harvest some wild plants? Let’s go with the plants.) Also, they made good use of the gym’s showers when they got the chance.
Thank you so much for creating these characters! I’ve enjoyed reading about them and playing with them a lot over the past week, and they’ve really made me want to donate to some homeless shelters in my area. I just have to talk my husband into it. We don’t come from a very affluent background ourselves… but we have enough to play the sims and pay for the internet, right? There is definitely some room for giving.

Mr roBurky, have you thought about what’s going to happen when Alice and Kev eventually die? It’s going to happen one day, you know. Even in sim life, it’s inevitable… and the way Kev’s going I don’t think it’ll take long for him to pop his cloggs.

I usually shy away from putting my Sims in situations that will make them unhappy (which is why my stories aren’t nearly as compelling as yours), so I am really enjoying seeing another side of the game. It’s inspiring.

But I don’t get it, I did the same concept, and I just had them use the shower/bathtub at the gym, and most places have a toilet, and for the little kid, she could bake muffins at the toy oven at the library, which is also conveniently placed next to a comfy sofa. And they could just stay unemployed, but scavenge for collectables. Unless, of course, you wanna see what they do on their own, which, in my case, was nothing. Haha.

Can sims even find jewelry in the trash bins? Since these were created sims, then it was intentional to have kev wear a ring.. If only to get everyone stirred up about it… Lol! OMG, what if the author is some literary version of Dr. Gregory House from the show “House”?!
I like the story but I don’t understand why they don’t go to the local public swimming pool or gym in order to shower and pee. No one will make them stop and if you leave the lot the broken appliances will fix themselves, I think?
Well, I say we hire a couple of wranglers to go upstairs and beat the sh*t out of Kev.

You can put rings on your Sims in CAS. The option probably got clicked by accident(I have often put socks and other things on my Sims by accident)and he didn’t feel like remaking Kev just to take a ring off his finger. Also, maybe he just felt like giving him a ring.
I’m sure Kev had a wife at one point, that would explain the ring.
