Kev stays the night at Yvette’s house, and overnight he grows older, becoming an elder.
When Yvette goes to get her breakfast in the morning, Kev goes to the room of Yvette’s adult daughter, and makes critical comments to her about her mother.
When she doesn’t appreciate that, Kev gets angry with her, and a lengthy yelling match begins.
Kev’s free will then somehow decides that now is the perfect time to give her a kiss.
He was unaware that Yvette had returned and had been quietly watching these events unfold.

Hey just out of curiosity… which plot did you buy for Alice and Kev? I want to download them and move them into the same plot when I get the game.
If you buy them and place them, the plot comes with, and I think there’s only one in Riverview that it fits perfectly into.
if you select the family to place before you click the checkmark it will tell you the lots address and you can match it perfectly in riverview…i think its 451 riverside or something like that

As I note in the text, that decision was his own. Just one of the situations where the free will has taken the story in a wildly different direction.

Loving the blog. Friend introduced me to it the other day, read all of the posts and downloaded my own Kev and Alice. Needless to say, Kev is such an inconsiderate moron that I’ve decided that Alice’s goal is to get out from under his wing. She’s gotten a job and has slowly been cleaning up the lot. Well, she has a bathroom (or outhouse, as it were). Still, her constant battles with her father make for difficult times.

I don’t think Kev was trying to hit on the daughter. I think he was trying to make up with her. The way he went about it though was inappropriate.

Quick question- has anyone tried Sims3 on a laptop? I have a fairly new acer laptop, and I don’t want to buy the game to find out I cant use it.
Yep, playing Sims 3 just fine. Got a Medion Akoya E5312 at of all places, Aldi’s Grocery Store, about a year ago for around $700 US dollars. A year later, both Aldi’s and Costco are selling better models, for either cheaper or about the same price, and they do far more than mine does.
Meanwhile, I’ve got a friend who bought a new laptop to play Civ IV a few years ago, and is finding he’s had trouble getting Sims 3 to run on the same laptop.
I’d say check the store’s return policy. The place I got mine, and a friend got theirs said you can’t return the game once it’s been opened unless it’s defective, and then they’ll replace it with the same item. Fat lot of good that does! 😦
I’m loving this story. In real life, I’ve been homeless before, and if friends hadn’t taken me in this time, I’d be just like Alice & Kev, but with different traits! Why can’t real life be more like the Sims? I mean, I’ve looked online, and can’t find a job within minutes/ sim hours! My house isn’t as nicely decorated, nor do I have clothing as cool. My town, er, city, is pretty fun to wander around in, but I don’t meet people as interesting as the sims do, nor is anything nearly as LOLtastic! And my friends in real life aren’t gonna come back as playable ghosts!
Oh god, I’m not giving people ideas, am I? Is Kev gonna die of old age, and come back as a playable ghost, haunting Alice forever?!? Heh, I may just download them into my game to find out! 😉
I am definately loving Sims 3 way more than Sims 2! I had Sims Life Stories & Pet Stories for my laptop, and they kept me amused. Personally, I HATED those characters, and their idiotic behaviors, and only played through to unlock the cool items. As soon as I was done with that garbage, I created my own sim families to mess around with! I wonder if they’ll do a similar laptop friendly version of Sims 3. I hope so, but with better story lines!

The Sims 3 settings are kind of low, but it runs fine

There is NO dedicated video card, it’s the built in Intel graphics accelerator
yeah, i play mine on a laptop all the time, works great and i don’t have a really expensive or hugely-amped up laptop, just a regular 2 gigs of RAM macbook, and i’ve had no problems whatsoever.
Quick answer- yes, I have. I actually don’t have a desktop computer, so I have no choice. Anyway, there are certain system requirements you need to have, like any video game, attatchment, or program you want to install and use. Check the back of the box or the back of the manual or something like that to find the requirements.
I have an acer computer from walmart bout a year old now…it plays fine but for some reason the wieght shifts kind of mess up the body shapes…instead of a fat person you have a thin person with their head, body and feet not completely aligned. Some clothing changes can fix the problem.

Many have already said this before, but EA should pay you for all of the great advertising! I have read a lot of people commenting that they bought the game soley because of this blog.
Your writing is truly amazing, and you are incredibly talented at capturing the story in pictures.
I downloaded child Alice and Kev and changed their names to Alice
and Kevin Newman (instead of Bin Diver). They really are a fun challenge to play, as I usually (I know, it’s bad) use the money cheat and build my Sims mansions, and they never have to work unless to fulfill a wish. I’ve done that with all the Sims games, so I’ve never really had to “earn” a living with my Sims. Starting from scratch is proving to be very interesting.
A day in the life of my Alice and Kev usually begins with Alice off to school,and Kev going rummaging and collecting around town.
He often finds bubble bath,teddy bears,candles,seeds, and even nice quality fruits. He once even found a stone worth 3,00 simoleons! At the end of each day he sells his loot, and I usually net about 1000 simoelons a day. This activity proves to be very taxing and Kev often comes “home” filthy, hungry, and stessed.
The gym in Sunset Valley is pretty much a second home to Alice and Kev. There they can get a meal, shower, and even get a bit of rest on the pool lounges. Alice often gets help with her homework from strangers in the gym, as I have her go straight there after school so she can use the facilities. Because she is a child, and children and teens have curfew, she still spends many nights on the park bench in the overgrown lot. Even still, it is usually with a full tummy and an empty bladder.
Alice and Kev have alos befriended a man a few houses down by the name of Christopher Steel. From what they know about him so far is that he has the good and friendly traits. That may explain why he tolerates their inappropriate behaviour whenever they visit his home. Kev often cooks, showers, and even sleep in this man’s bed wothout him protesting. Alice now also has the interaction of “ask for food” with Christopher.
Kev plans to rummage bins until they have saved enough money to buy the small 1 bedroom house on the corner (12,000 and some simoleons). Until then they will get by on the kindness of strangers ans strangers, and the resources of the neighborhood.
To sum it up, this is way may fun that playing rich sims with nothing to do but watch TV and paint. Thanks, and keep up the great story blog!

One thing I hope they fix are bringing back memories. My Female sim was a heartbreaker and she was in love with two brothers. She wound up falling in love with one, but every so often he shakes his head at her negatively, even though she only made out with his brother ages ago when they were teens, now they are married with 5 boys.
I quess you are by now aware of the great blog you have going 🙂 I am not going to play the Sims 3 but keep following the misadventures of Alice and Kev for sure! Keep this going for awhile, end it at the right moment (I quess you will know when that will be…) and I will be a life long fan! Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean! i’m only 12 and having a stay at home first half of the summer, so all i do is sims 3, read a&k and go to the pool. a&k is probably my favorite all of these and there is just never enough!

I just found out about this blog today…I read the entire thing. Couldn’t stop. This is absolutely fascinating! I’ve never let my Sim’s free will do its thing exclusively, but this certainly makes me want to try it out. You’ve truly taken the game to an entirely new level – and inspired me (and others, I presume) to do so as well.
