As the dawn approaches, Kev takes a nap by the Grisby family pool to prepare for the day, before heading off to find his new obsession again.
He meets Yvette in the front garden as she heads to pick up the morning paper.
After their deep conversations the night before, Yvette is much more receptive to Kev, and even responds to some of his flirts.
It’s at this point that Yvette’s husband and daughter come outside to see what’s going on.
In a surprising act of boldness, Kev asks Yvette to leave her husband and be with him instead.
Even more surprisingly, she agrees.

Charisma, I believe. I know one of my little SIMs gets Charisma skill going up when she performs some social interactions.
Nothing but the romantic interest was gained when kissing. But some social interactions increase the charmisa skill.

Am I correct in that Yvette, or any other character, will not “know” that Alice and Kev’s “house” is a run-down park? The park is just a skin on a house. Sure, they have no money, but they have a house (of sorts) to come home to, so are they really homeless?
Well, strictly technically, the park is a “skin” on a house. But since it’s a house with no roof, no bathroms, no kitchen and no furniture, for all intents and purposes it’s just as bad as like living in a park.
LMFAO.. AMAZING. maybe he will be a kinder kev? lol
what i imagine happening is he will marry her, then bam he will turn insane and psycho and be very mean to her. this is a story of a homeless family with the worst traits, i can’t imagine this relationship lasting long 😛

Now the hilarious part, I think, is that his life time asperation is to be a heart breaker. This does not bode well for yvette, as he will need to pull off 9 more little miracles to achieve this.

I am dying to know what happens next. I really never saw anyone falling in love with Kev. Is Yvette psychotic or something? I mean Kev is just a jerk and has nothing to offer also he just wants to break people’s hearts so he is gonna stomp on her if he sticks to his life aspiration. This really threw me for a loop…never…in a million years saw this coming.

I worked with a girl who did this. She had a relationship, stable job, a house. She met someone at my job who was homeless and gave up everything for him. Her life pretty much fell apart, she lost her job, her mom threw her out and now the both of them live by the downtown library x.x
Um…but people actually DO this stuff in real life. I wouldn’t go around claiming to know how common/uncommon it is, but people HAVE given up very stable professions and families for someone/something else.
Just because it hasn’t happened to you or anyone you know doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist/happen.

Hey Robin, just wanted to comment and say how great it is that you’re doing this – I remember trying to do something similar on the Sims 1 where you could get someone to act crazy and homeless by giving them nearly no skill points… but it was nowhere near as fun!
Question, how are you coping with all the Class-AA bugs that still seem to be in the game, even after it was delayed for four months to fix them?
i have been playing the game for a month with no bugs at all. i guess its kind of hit or miss.

From what I’ve read in the comments and this latest “episode”, it felt like Kev has been a sort of a “cougar hunter” of sorts, if ya know what I mean. There’s a slight shift in the events that will unfold for these characters. Questions do arise: What will Alice think? What will Yvette’s ex and daughter do now? Will Kev and Alice have a better life? How will he break it off with Yvette to fulfill his lifelong goal?

I tried this on my own Sims 3. I made Lucy and Seb, they’re also both homeless. Seb spends most of his time at the Cemetery trying to hit it off with ghosts :S and Lucy stays at home and is…well, miserable.

My Sims’s girlfriend had commitment issues and that’s the only reason she broke up with her fiance for mine. Can’t wait to see what happens with this relationship!! And for those of you who were woundering, when you ask a sim to break up with another one, it doesn’t make you his/her girl/boy friend. It just breaks them up if he/she wanted to. Then you can ask to go steady, or be boyfriend and girlfriend. See you guys next “episode”!
I think you need to indicate that you intervened here. Sims will NOT ask another sim to move in with them without direct action from the game player.

I dunno… I left one of my Sims alone for two game days and when I returned, three other Sims had moved in. More so, they were pretty much strangers.
ummm.. ya need to chill this guy is doin what he’s supposed to be doin, making a reality a story for people and having fun with his own storyline. you also need to notice that if it werent for the creater alice and kev wouldnt be homeless kev wouldnt know yvette alice wouldnt know zeldias. sooo…no kev probably did not just ask yvette to dump her man and get with him he probably just ask her to be his girlfriend, or the creater probably put what happen in the story in his own words he doesnt need to be perfect with a story. if he was people would be bored and irritated cause alll this story would be is “kev just ate bread and jam now his walking to go pee now hes yelling and alice. i mean really wtf. ? what kind of story would that be. so yes dear people that own the sims like you DO control them and DO make them say things to another sim that usually cant come out alone without help, you should know that by now so dont make the creater seem like he’s not making his story correctly when its his story and his storyline and what he wants to happen in the future. thats his decison. your job is to leave nice comments and be excited for what waits ahead.

That does happen, actually. When my now ex-husband and I separated, he moved in to our guest room for about 6 months. Fortunately, we still got along for the most part so it wasn’t horrific, but it was indeed awkward at many points.

I just finished reading all your posts. I must say you did a wonderful job of really bringing Alice and Kev to life. I’m jealous of your simple yet brilliant writing, it’s such a difference from my snarky commentary on my sims lives. I will be waiting impatiently for the next update!

Kev is a smart man. Those of us who’ve played TS3 knows that when he asks her to move in with him they can choose to kick her ex husband and daughter out and take over possession of the house and money. Very smart and sneaky Kev.
Great story, very moving as well. You’ve made these characters seem so realistic in their hopes and dreams and their trials & tribulations. I really felt for the poor girl. With a father like that, her chances for living a happy life are greatly diminished. What is more astonishing is the fact that you are letting them make almost all of the decisions & choices themselves with little or no intervention from you. I don’t don’t know how EA did it, but they’ve made these Sims into 3 dimensional characters, it’s as if they were almost “alive” or had some form or AI going on.
Great game, fantastic story so far, I can’t wait to find out what happens to these Sims next. Thank you for allowing us to read the story of their lives so far.

I recall a movie where this old woman hit an old homeless guy with her car, and she ended up letting him live with her and they fell in love and all that good stuff. The lady in the movie was married too if I recall correctly.
