A father for an evening

So Alice gets dragged home. It’s been a long time since she last had a shower, and the policewoman makes sounds of disgust for the whole trip.

Alice being taken back to the park by the police is actually quite a common occurence, as she’s constantly trying to get a few more hours in some family’s bed after the curfew. This is the first time that Kev has been home and awake, however. When Alice arrives, he marches up and angrily lectures her.

Which I found surprising, as I wouldn’t have thought he cared. It turns out that apart from still being hot-headed and quick to anger, he’s having quite a sane evening. He worries about where his daughter has been, and how well she’s doing at school. He even helps her with her homework.

He’s back to his usual self by the morning though, and practising his ninja bin-kicking techniques.

Next: Childish

Kev needs a wrench of his own.

Oh, and that just makes it worse, knowing that Kev has the capacity to be concerned and helpful and then isn’t so much of the time. I know that his mental illness wasn’t his choice, but the moments of lucidity have to make it even harder for Alice. Too bad there isn’t a Sim mental health center.

O__o Wow … who knew that would happen. Well, at least she got help with her homework. As revenge for him returning to his insanity, I give her permission to keep all of her apples to herself. :O)

This story gets better every entry. I feel so sorry for Alice and it really tears at your heart when you see the facial expressions she has throughout the story.

Like my best friend- she’s always so sincere during the night, but so much different around people.
Or my mom- except opposite. Her ‘usual’ is spending the day drinking and ruining the fam, but every so often, she’s got good days…
    Now I’m officially hooked.

I’m not sure Kev would provide the best homework help, but… darn, now I’m kind of on the fence about him, since it looks like he could possibly be an ok dad if he could just get properly medicated.

lol@ ninja bin-kicking techniques. I am sooo drawn in. I have been reading since the introduction and I am amazed at how hilariously sad this story is. I find it sad because it is so realistic and hilarious because how life-like the sims can be sometimes. I am moving on to the “Childish” part of the story. Awesome.

Did the police ever try to take Alice away from Kev when she was a baby? Is she adopted or did kev actually used to have a romance with some one?

  25. 36 hula January 5, 2010 at 6:59 am

I really like this! I’m going to try this out…

  26. 37 kev February 5, 2010 at 7:38 pm

i think kev only helped his daughter because he thought the police was like i have my eyes on you kev!

  27. 38 Sam April 18, 2010 at 6:21 pm

At least he was trying.. despite his ‘insane’ trait.. He may be a raving lunatic most of the time but he does… care.. (?)

  28. 39 Jess May 8, 2010 at 6:51 pm

LOL, I lov he last picture too. I feel even more sory for Alice now though. At least before she knew where she stood with her dad, now she dosen’t.

  29. 41 PurpleChicita February 10, 2011 at 2:18 am

Did anyone else notice that in the last photo Kev’s foot went through the garbage can? LOL! 😀

Every time I read this story, I cry tears of joyful sorrow (is that even possible?)

Poor Kev. He’s got no choice but to be a complete asshole to every living thing in the world, but he ultimately just wants his daughter to have a nice, normal life, as this post shows. His will temporarily overrides his jerkass nature and, just for a moment, he tries to be the father he always wanted to be. He does his best to remind his daughter that, no matter what, he still cares about her…
